On December 15th in the conference hall of the university there was a meeting of the rector of RSTU, academician of RAS Vladimir Ivanovich Kolesnikov, with the students picked team and rugby coaches of our university.

At our university great attention is paid to the development of the students sport and in particular to rugby.

As the world practice shows on the West every big university has its own sports visiting card, that is why rugby picked team – is one of such visiting cards for our university. The event took place in mode of the meeting-conference during which there were discussed current subjects of the work of the picked team, the results of work in the expiring year, plans on the perspective.

Year 2011 for the team has become extremely productive, because only a month ago our picked team “Express” in the hot contest won the Open Russian Cup on rugby among students teams, having become the best students picked team in Russia in this kind of sport.

Vladimir Ivanovich Kolesnikov congratulated the players and coaches body under the guidance of the main coach – Kushnerchuk Vladimir Stepanovich on the victory in such a representative competition, in which apart from Russian teams the rugby-sportsmen from the Ukraine took part. During the process of the discussion there were watched video materials with the plays of the leading world rugby clubs.

On the meeting the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region, the pro-rector on innovation and investment of RSTU Igor Vladimirovich Kolesnikov was also present and he made a presentation.

Today RSTU works hard in the field of cooperation with the partners abroad, in particular - with the English part. We have reached an agreement that in the nearest time the rugby coach from Great Britain will come to the university with the master class from misty Albion.

According to the results of the meeting for assurance of the picked team there are given protocol instructions to structural subdivisions of the university.
